The maximum temperature of the application affects the calibration, size (diameter) and material of the sensor we select.

5. Sheath Material

The application dictates the choice of sheath materials. 304SS and 316SS are most commonly used but temperatures and corrosive conditions can necessitate the use of other materials.

6. Sheath Diameter

The Mineral Insulated thermocouples come in a number of sizes but the choice is greatly influenced by the maximum temperature of the application. For high temp applications bigger is better.

7. Sheath Length “L”

Although the accuracy of the thermocouple is not affected by the length of the sheath consult the factory when the probe length exceeds 120 inches.

8. Leadwire Construction

Material:		Know the application率先 application atmosphere and limitations – temperature, moisture, corrosion and abrasion. Flexible wire is available in solid or stranded conductors with many sizes (gauge), insulations and calibrations to meet nearly all applications.

Measured from the first thread to the tip of the sheath. Allow for the thread-in insertion length of the fitting when determining location.
